Tsai has been drawing and doodling since he was eight years old after he
saw Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
He completed his Diploma with Merit in Media Design at Media
Design School in 2002. In 2003 to 2005, Tsai created banners and was graphic editor for Mighty Ape and also worked as a Concept Artist for various companies.
Tsai attended Freelance Animation School for three years (2005-2007) where
he graduated with a Diploma in 2D Classical Animation. In his
first year, he won first prize for a character design competition (based on
'The Bride' in Kill Bill) for a retail food company.
In his final year, Tsai completed his Space Chronicles animation and
was
asked by Freelance Animation School to submit his creation to the 5th
Hamburg Animation Award 2008.

has experience as a web designer. His medium of choice is pencil and paper. After completing his
illustrations, he transfers the image onto computer where he uses Photoshop
to shade the art work.
Tsai is inspired by Frank Cho, Shane Glines, Brandon Ragnar Johnson, Bruce
Timm, Frank Frazetta, Gary Ham, Dean Yeagle and Alfonso Azpiri. Tsai is an
avid 2D animation fan, collects art books and toy statues and enjoys
listening to video game and movie soundtracks. |
